Yea, but you can unsubscribe from those sub-threads. It’s cumbersome though

Currently, every reply has its own subscription so unsubscribing the root item only really unsubscribes from all replies above your latest reply.
Unsubscribing from root should unsubscribe from all replies.
A mute this post and everything in it would be a nice option.
