pull down to refresh

My wife’s ex-colleague was in town,
so we dragged our weary souls,
packed the kids and
boarded a bus that
reached the subway station

Once there, we engaged in
a hyper-energetic round of
hajimemashite (nice to meet you)
with his wife and son
Ever the consummate conversationalist, my wife
brought on her A+ game,
never letting up the commentary,
always sensitive to her coworker’s needs,
rapid firing useful suggestions to help them navigate their stay

after a spirited exchange,
her co-worker and family left
for their hotel
did they immediately heave a sigh of relief once they were out of our sight?

I’m not sure. I just remember my wife
whining about how tired she is

when do you fake your communications, and does the end justify the means?

I fake it often. Just because I'm in a shitty mood doesn't mean I need to ruin somone else's day. Midwestern politeness at its finest.

I’m rather transparent. My emotions are written all over my face. I can’t hide them even if I want to haha

In truth, I hardly behave like this. I'm very direct and I tell it like it is.
I also hate people who pretend in front of you and then gossip behind you.
I avoid them like the plague.

In spite of your straightforward personal, would you say you are a confrontational or non-confrontational person?

It depends on the context, if I see abuse or attacks, I am belligerent, otherwise I pretend nothing has happened and ignore the situation.
