The president, once the darling of the bitcoin community, was actually having as advisor a known con man who had fled the neighbouring Cameroon, after he was charged with scamming thousands of naive investors with a silly MLM-style crypto scheme... All this has caused a tangible damage to people's perception of bitcoin, sadly
