The Alaskan Malamute (/ˈmæləˌmjuːt/) is a large breed of dog that was originally bred for its strength and endurance, to haul heavy freight as a sled dog. It is similar to other arctic breeds such as the husky, the spitz, the Greenland Dog, Canadian Eskimo Dog, the Siberian Husky, and the Samoyed.

The Alaskan Malamute is one of the few Eskimo (Inuit) sled dog breeds that has survived the storms of time.

The name doesn't do justice to such cuteness. Very beautiful.

We knew a lady who had several of these. They always had a hard time with the summer heat at the dog park and she was constantly brushing them out to keep their coats as thin as possible. The dog park would just be covered in Malamute sheddings.
