I’ve got both but after the recent debates I’m starting to lean to just running core

interesting, what makes you think that adding more room for spam in op_return will stop them from using the cheaper witness data?
btw, the "bloat" is currently 11gb. so not a big deal in my opinion as people start to switch from 1tb harddrive to 2tb for storage.

inscriptions aren’t going away. Without a change in incentives people will continue using the cheapest option. My opinion shift is coming from low adoption of op_return filters, the past couple of years. Without larger adoption (mainly by miners) individuals running knots wont make a difference other than delaying block relay and slowing their own nodes.
Bloat may not be a problem now but in future years, I worry the requirements to sync a full node will increase and deter new node runners.
I don’t agree with or like inscriptions but knots isn’t going to stop them.

Running one with BTCPayServer, would like to have the option to use Knots.
