My recent renovation project meant that I had to utilise all the money I had. So, I went to the bank today to close an old account that has laid dormant for many years.
Guess how long it took me to get my money back?
A freaking two hours!
I was prepared to wait one hour, but two hours just takes the cake. At one point in time, only one bank staff was on duty. No wonder the queue crawled like a snail.
How are banks screwed up in your country?
Well, why are you doing business with a bank? They are only there to screw you and take all your wealth for themselves. Again, why are you doing business with them, does the pain make you want to do more business with them? They are YOUR enemy, aren’t they?

Just tried to use a debit card to send money to an exchange. Denied. Tried talking to the bank, they said it wasn't their problem, talk to the exchange.

Considerate fortunate, it was two hours, but I suppose you took your money, since you do not mention any loss.
It was really bad or sad that you lost the same two hours or more, so that you were then gone empty due to some obstacles of the bank.

Two hours is nothing. I used to have to wait days to take out thousands in cash from the my business account. Or I had to order a large cash withdrawal a week in advance. Ridiculous. They don't even hide the fact they don't actually have your money and yet everyone just goes along with it like it's perfectly normal.

I got my accounts blocked (not closed) at a bank when some troll falsely alleged on a high traffic youtube video that I was working for their competitor in the UK and that "something fishy was going on". Since there wasn't much money in that account, I just wrote it off and moved on. 2 years later, they started sending me emails trying to entice me to access my account... and they are still doing that today. Thus far I am resisting that urge... eff them.

fuck. that.
Mine recently blocked one of my cards (well, it expired), but instead of sending me a new one in the mail, they proceeded to lose it(!), not tell me about it until my card started getting declined, and when I reached out to present it, gaslight me and propose that it already had arrived.
Fuck yous.

My father went to a bank for a check, 20 people in the queue, only one counter opened and the counter operator was away from the counter for over 15 minutes.
Needless to say, my father ran away from that bank.
But things were already going wrong years ago. I opened an account in one of the first online banks, the beginning was free of charge the bank, then, when they included management costs, they gave the opportunity to close the account for free. I requested the closure, but it took them more than 4 months to close the account.
Unbelievable but true.
