Hosoi estimates that if a rabbit falls out of airplane and lands on dirt or something softer, the rabbit has a 50 percent chance of not being injured.
On a related note, my little one, as a toddler, once feel down the stairs at home. I saw him rolling down like a potato bag, holding my breath, praying in silence. It was really scary!
Luckily he didn't hit himself anywhere, and his very flexible neck could bend in ways I would never imagined. That, and the fact that the steps were made of wood probably helped. Nothing happened to him.
