It’s interesting that the new administration seems to have helped bring egg prices down then.
That points to something other than natural market forces being the culprit.
Yeppers, something else!! When the OBiden crew decided to turn USDA loose on the farmers with their PCR tests, which seem to be totally inaccurate when cycled too many times, all the chickens seemed to have whatever they were testing for. Was it avian bird flu or just if they were chickens or not? Whichever way it was tested, it seemed to find that the flocks had to be tortuously killed culled every time, therefore choking off the supply of fresh eggs in the USA. Of course, when there is no supply, the price will fly on a highly inelastic good, like eggs. I wonder if everybody was fooled by this action and who did it? Weren’t you on to this farce from the beginning?

I was less interested in this than most people, since we don't consume a lot of commercially produced eggs.
I could have imagined it going either way. The conditions birds are produced in are horrific and it wouldn't have surprised me if a virus tore through them. I know pig farmers are also having lots of biosecurity issues.
Basically, I suspected avian flu was mostly BS, but I also didn't really look into it.

A while ago, I would not even have thought about it because I was buying free-range, feed themselves, fertilized eggs from a co-worker who had about 50 chickens on her farm. Those were the best tasting and looking eggs ever, since they were found the day before she sold them to me. Now, I am in the city and have to take what I can get. That is a sad story!
