From my experience in Canada basketball is the most popular sport amongst Indian youth. Especially in Toronto area because of the Raptors. They also like baseball because of the Blue Jays but NBA is #1. I am sure they are all familiar with cricket though from their parents watching.
Thanks. @Undisciplined you should now accept that Cricket is bigger than Baseball and 🏈 together.

This is why all the leagues are racing for the international audience.

I can see a decaying interest among US audience for Baseball and American Football. I can just tell you that Cricket and Soccer will be bigger than both of them very soon.

Not NFL but definitely baseball. Baseball is a very regional game now. It doesn't have national appeal. Markets that have teams and love their teams follow passionately but people don't watch if their team isn't involved, which is too bad. Hence the push to grow the international fanbase as baseball is very popular still in Latin America, Japan and Korea.
I like cricket but soccer is such a bad sport. It is a real shame that billions around the world have been indoctrinated into following that game. Something to be said for low barrier to entry. I think that's why basketball has grown so much. Ball and a hoop and you are good to go.

I kinda agree with you. I too don't like Soccer that much and after watching NBA games recently, I can say that it's a better game to watch.
However as Soccer brings legs into play than any other sports, I can't see it'll face a challenge to its top rank as team sports.

There are some things I do like about soccer. The international competitions are truly global whereas most other sports are usually dominated by a few nations in international competition. I also like the idea of tiers of competition where certain teams face off at the highest level of tournaments and then there is a tier lower and a tier beneath that.
I do think the biggest international matches say in the World Cup can be very interesting to follow but there are other sports I would much rather watch. Now having sats on the games do make them more interesting to follow but I still don't really watch, I just keep the stream going and listen for anything exciting happening.
It would be great if Cricket was more popular in Canada. I would like to go see a game live.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's our birthright as Americans to not care what foreigners think about anything.
reply
And you know what our birthright is? It's simply tell the truth to Americans on their faces.
reply
Good luck with that

Yeah, but Canada’s still in the British Commonwealth, so it’s not a surprise that you still follow the Queen’s sports.
reply
I think it was the Queen's idea to have two 50 yard lines on our football fields.
