A study featured on ScienceAlert shows that microplastics from soil can end up in the food we eat, like lettuce and carrots. These tiny plastic bits come from things like plastic mulch and fertilizers. Plants absorb them through their roots and leaves, and then we eat them. This could be harmful to our health, possibly affecting hormones, fertility, and even DNA.

I don't know if that's going to help much anymore. There's microplastics everywhere at this point.

That was basically my initial comment, but I revised it.
Organic doesn't use plastic mulch or chemical fertilizers, so there should at least be less microplastic in it.
