Code open source yet?
reply
Alledgedly they're gonna open source their code at the end of this year.
But even if they do release on time, it's clear that the people in charge don't care about the safety of users, because they are currently operating on a "just trust us" security model. Keet is properly categorized as a combination of shovelware and snake oil.
It's even more laughable that they have included Bitcoin/LN integration. They're basically saying "you can't know how our software works, but you should trust our software to not steal/lose your Bitcoin."

Kinda curious about what they are trying to build. If I wanted to trust a company with my video I would just use Apple/Google/Microsoft. They are a company so it makes sense they would want to keep their code proprietary but what reason is there to use the service?

In their ToS, they describe Keet as a video conferencing platform. I don't know how you can make money off that without selling user meta-data (which their ToS doesn't say they do).
Further, I can't figure out how they plan to turn a profit. Their ToS only mentions the possibility of fee-based / premium services. I guess they are funded by some VC(s) and are going to figure out how to make money later.
