Edmonton played very well. They had a good strategy to try and cut off the boards and not let Florida do their dump ins and aggressive forecheck to much success. But that game was very close. Florida had couple great chances early in OT. I think The Panthers came out too hard trying to end it early in OT and almost did but they were running out of gas in the second half of the first OT period. Edmonton outlasted them.

If Edmonton can sustain this level of play and keep playing good defense and getting good goaltending they will have a good chance to win the Cup because it is hard to hold their offensive stars down even for a tight checking team like Florida. I think after going down 3-0 last year and having home ice, Edmonton really needed game 1. We will see how Florida rebounds in game 2.
