good catch, here's the correct link https://invest.thunderfunder.com/offering/opa/details
internal transactions are database updates, deposit and withdrawals are LN transactions, the split is about 80%-20%
That's quite a lot considering that WalletOfSatoshi made 22,630,551 lightning transactions since it was launched...
we definitely have an advantage on traditional wallets since you can zap 44k people at once
Hard to tell for sure, but we talked to all the major LN infrastructure providers and they all told us it’s 100-200k a day on avg.
Nostr does ~8k a day
you can email us at hello@orangepillapp.com anytime
It's not. I can create a script that zaps everyone on nostr by fetching an invoice from their lightning address.
in order to fetch an invoice from a Lightning Address, the recipient needs to be using a custodial wallet (or running an always-online node setup, which is rare). So while it's technically possible, you'd mostly be zapping custodial wallets.
If you're assuming a custodial wallet that you control, you can just not use lightning at all.
Here’s how it would work:
-
The user signs up on Orange Pill App (OPA) using their own wallet (e.g., Wallet XYZ).
-
Every month, OPA sends a reusable BOLT12 offer to Wallet XYZ.
-
If the user has funds available and has previously whitelisted OPA as an approved payee, Wallet XYZ would automatically fetch the invoice and pay it — no manual action needed
he sender still has to pay the invoice manually, no? Afaict, your UX problem isn't the receiving side, it's on the side of the sender.
You're right that with BOLT12, the sender normally needs to manually approve each payment.
However, custodial wallets could easily automate this on behalf of the user.
Since the wallet controls the keys, it could fetch the invoice from the reusable offer and automatically pay it on a schedule — fully automating recurring payments.
hopefully bolt12 takes off
BOLT12 enables recurring payments on the Lightning Network by allowing reusable offers and automatic invoice generation
fiat payments are managed by apple and google and, thankfully, they don't share any information with us
of course we'd prefer memberships to be bought in bitcoin, but most bitcoiners don't want to spend btc 🤷♂️
the purpose of orange pill app is to meet local bitcoiners and create local bitcoin communities and parallel economies
you can see what other bitcoiners think and use the app for here: https://www.orangepillapp.com/reviews
