I have criticisms.
- Use of AI art. Ew, cringe. Please pay human artists. Especially with your manifesto as it is; touting supporting creators... Please practice what you preach.
- 3-click rule. When you're advertising your website, don't make me search around to find the link to your website. Just post the damn URL!
- Clicking the Discover button on the homepage doesn't respond. If it isn't meant to do anything when clicked, delete it!
- Lack of quality control. A majority of the projects listed at /launchpad look like low quality projects doing e-begging. Half the images look AI generated. It's this kind of sloppy experience that prevents me from wanting to return.
That being said, I hope the geyser fund can succeed. I love seeing local bitcoin spaces and learning centers have another way to fund what they do.
Ah my bad, here's part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjfcaVvEw68
Definitely cool to look back on, and I'm glad I documented it. Makes me think it's time to record some some more videos to talk about my bitcoin experiences today haha.
Years ago I put a paper wallet in a geocache. Price went up, I got greedy and retrieved the cache for myself. Now I regret taking it because it could have been a great introduction to Bitcoin for someone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66f-Zg21f9k
Jack has talked about it on his podcast. Whenever his co-workers have an idea on an innovative product, the bar is always the 60-some percent return that you get from just holding bitcoin. If the idea can't outperform that, the idea gets shot down.
I like the idea of Nostr but I can't get into it because every web client I have tried has terrible performance. They're either turbo bloated JS bohemoths, or the network usage is so great that having the tab open brings down every connected device on my home network. Yes I've tried Primal recently, and it is one of the worst.
I get that there are some nice mobile clients but that's not for me. I hate touchscreen smartphones with a passion; it's gotta be a web app or TUI or I won't use it.
Always thought it would be cool to have a server where players could buy and sell in-game items for Sats. I was thinking about doing a similar thing in Luanti (formerly Minetest.) For awhile, the most popular Luanti server was a server where players could mine PAW token, so that shows there's demand for it.

Yeah it's like a microcomputer. 133 MHz, 2 cores, 264KB SRAM, 2MB FLASH.

It's been a few years since I've played Veloren, but I gotta +1 rep the game because it's got a great world to get lost in. There are intense dungeon battles, a bunch of fantastical races, and flying gliders that feel just right. This is a game just right for me when I wanted to escape.
Every year around this time I hear about some bill that would make DST permanent. I used to be hopeful that that bill would pass soon and we could quit the twice yearly madness of collectively offsetting our circadian rhythms by 1/24th of the time it takes the Earth to make a full rotation.. Fuck it, I've waited long enough. Last year, I became a UTC-8 household year round. During the winter when my neighbors are using standard time, my watch is in sync with everyone else's. When spring comes around and I step outside to do my commute, I've crossed a timezone border and I'm thinking in the local time, UTC-7. Trash gets picked up at 7AM UTC-7 during the spring, and 7AM UTC-8 during the winter? No problem, I bring the trash to the street at 5:30AM UTC-8 year round. That way there's always 30+ minutes buffer, and I didn't have to change my sleep schedule. #winning
There's an indiegogo project that solves this same problem using a magnet mount https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mag2-the-display-safe-magnetic-webcam-mount#/
ok, I've just added 'performance mode' to Hashteroids 👍 If you get the chance it would be great if you could see if that makes it playable? This new mode massively reduces the number of particles, removes the nebula effects, etc.
Oh cool! That makes Hashteroids playable for me, thank you! That's a really fun game! Just played two rounds. My only complaint was the shield sound effect-- I think it's way too loud.
I've been enjoying performance mode on ASIC Lander too. Still get lag spikes every now and again where it feels like I'm flying in slow motion, but it's a big improvement. Love easy mode and the gravity adjustment too.
Allow me to unload that question for you. They don't. Bitcoin is a road. Bad people and good people use roads. Roads are for everybody.
This is my first introduction to plebdevs. I would appreciate a URL. (yes I could google it, but how would I know I'm clicking the correct plebdevs?)
When I go to download (for the first time ever), Cloudflare gives me an error 1015. "You are being rate limited" :(
I love that you love it! Thanks! Hashteroids? Yeah I tried it but the framerate is too low to be enjoyable.
On ASIC lander, I think I get an advantage using a computer without a GPU-- I think the ship flies slower lol. I just beat my previous best. 3470 ZH/s!
