21 sats \ 1 reply \ @Gerrrrt 2 Apr \ parent \ on: INTRUDER ALERT! - Shitcoiner at the Meetup bitcoin
Ok, I'm sorry and I take the crypto bit back.
Sorry if my reply is one of the predictable ones, but I'd go with zero tolerance for shitcoinery, especially in the company of noobs. As for he/him's coinbase nonsense, that makes him sound like a meme.
And don't be bullied into keeping him around because you don't want to censor - it's your space, curate it how you jolly-well please.
On Scotland we'd tell him to "get tae fuck, you're not welcome here".
However... re-reading your post, I'm going to guess you have 'crypto' in your advertising. If so, this is all self inflicted. You won't help noobs by taking them on a hike through a field of dog shit.
Hash all the way. When I was younger that was all we could get in Scotland - bud was a once in a blue moon surprise. But modern weed is simply too strong and I just can't deal with it.
Of course I found bitcoin through this so amen to that.
Last-minute preparations for the halving party π in El Salvador. Super excited!
LFG, hope to see some stackers there.

To avoid upsetting anyone I'll be vague π
I'm British and we are sarcastic/ironic a lot. Some of our brethren abroad are incapable of detecting it so you have to be way more literal. This is not to sound superior, of course, we're not better - just different and we love you all. Except the French.
I ran a Raspiblitz node for a couple of years with over 100 channels and yes, it's a lot of work. My aim was never to make a lot of sats, I was happy to make enough to cover on-chain open/close fees - and this was when we could get 1sat/vbyte (good times). It was really just a learning experience plus a spending wallet.
I've simplified now, running an Umbrel with 6 medium sized channels which will hopefully cover my spending needs for a long time to come. My son runs something similar but with just one channel to me. It's a reliable setup and we're putting it to the test next week travelling in El Salvador.
There's been a lot of negativity recently about Lightning and some of it is quite fair. It can be a PITA when it breaks, there's no money in it for operators unless they're running at SCALE, and the learning curve is steep. But I love it and will continue to run it as long as there's another node to share a channel with.
I do miss my old Raspiblitz though.
I have a very poor record with stonks and I don't know shit.
That said, it's probably going up forever. I also wouldn't be surprised if there was a split some time in the future which would make it more attractive still.
Saylor knows what he's doing and that's good enough for my small potatoes.
Devs rock and we all owe them a debt of gratitude. When number goes up it's good to sling them some sats via Opensats, or some other way.
I'm waiting for a bit before upgrading. They're already on v1.0.4 so it seems they've had a few kinks to iron out. I'm also heading to El Salvador on Monday and I do not need to break my setup until I get back π
I bought some rib-eye yesterday (UK) and it was about 100,000 sats/kg
Eggs around 6000, 2l milk 4000.
