If the cracking is caused by a weak hip flexor than maybe but there's probably another issue underlying. I would suggest to go see a physical therapist.

A lot of people feel social pressure to indulge when family or friends bring over foods that they normally wouldn't eat. The problem isn't necessarily the food per se but rather the amount consumed that brings one over their caloric target and puts them in a surplus.
As you start making noticeable progress in your physique goals and you have abs then people relish in the fact that you're eating foods that separate you from your goals because it makes them feel better about themselves even subconsciously so you will notice comments especially if you don't partake but then also when you do partake eventually people will talk about it as if to make you feel guilty.
Like "oh Mr healthy is going to have a cookie and cake". If your goals aren't important to you then it's no big deal, go ahead and eat all you want but if you want to reach your goals this year then sometimes it's better to not have cheat meals and especially cheat days because once you break your discipline it's harder to stay on the path for some people.
Achieving and maintaining weight loss is often a mental battle as you debate with yourself. Set backs are set ups to make lasting change.
