of course.
the belittling and backhanded like attitudes came from not only the boss, but from fellow coworkers who didn't even bother to be helpful the first week was humiliating. the supervisor above my boss (about the seasonal workers, which was me and a few others) even said, "can't wait to let these newbies go soon."
it was at this time going forward in my working life that no one can be your friend or be trusted in the workplace. even if they seem genuinely nice. people will do anything to get an upper hand, promotion, or more pay. they will chew you up and spit you out hoping you move on.
thankfully and gratefully, i'm in a much better and happier position now. but my god i probably would've been every day torture had i stayed in the day job world.
the fact that this place sits right by the trolley system, you can cross the bay to Coronado by ferry and go to the beach right after, and or go south toward TJ is truly unmatched.
food and drinks? also phenomenal.
i don't think i'll disclose any big details at this time, but it's a YA coming of age novel!
touches on the themes of diaspora, identity and garnering agency, what i want vs. what everyone expects of me, and the changing dynamics of romantic, familial, and friend relationships.
hope this helps :)

I plan to go back during my time traveling again! This time I will be in a more cultural oriented exchange and I hope this will open my eyes even moreso!
i feel like the only decent fiat social media platform that's left is Threads. no dumb ads, very little political propoganda, and the algorithm is actually tailored to your interests. other than that, everything else is kind of poop.
