I'll even grant you that the Elon route is the best chance, but our party system is heavily rigged in favor of the two parties and they're able to change the rules whenever a contender begins emerging.
Because Elon isn't particularly ideological he has no significant political following: i.e. there's nothing like the movement Ron Paul had behind him, much less what Milei has.
Our situation also isn't nearly as dire as Argentina's was. People are vaguely disgruntled, but they're still fat and happy, and therefore too docile for revolution.
Again and again, it's the exact same thing here. Hence the reason we were ruled by only two parties for nearly a century. The two bigger players can hide and change election dates, legal presentation dates so that you don't make it to the list, arbitrarily change conditions midway so that you have to start over, and at the very end directly instruct the justice not to allow you to present to elections. They can put the entire media against you. And so on and so forth. And all in between.
Still, Milei is succeeding. An so will Elon. Trust the plan ;)
