Whoever zapped one of my posts (much appreciated) must have abysmal trust, because it was on the 4th page of top posts for the week despite these performance metrics:
- 10.6k sats
- 12 stackers zapped
- 15 comments

I suspect it also got downzapped pretty heavily. Some people have a deranged hatred of micro betting.

I think ~stacker_sports posts are default to be lower in the
top posts. You can see this happening to most of the posts in the territory.
Contrary to SS Posts published in territories like ~Ask_SN end up much above even with less zaps or engagement.
I feel the ranking of posts, at least under the top posts, should be ranked impartially.reply

So many people are waiting to be featured on the top filter, you would definitely need bias to cut out the posts which lose edge

Yeah, that's an exception! That maybe because it's a bounty post. Whatever there but it's not good overall.

Yeah, I don't have a full handle on it. I'm confident there's nothing in the code that systematically suppressed ~Stacker_Sports, but something about who zaps (and perhaps who downzaps) is hurting us.
As @k00b often says, our best path forward is just to make a better product, whatever the explanation, so that's our focus.

I believe it.
However you can see that you (only you) zap the same amount to a post in ~Stacker_sports and zap a post in ~Ask_SN or even in ~econ, you'll see anomalies in the rankings.
Maybe you are right about downzapping. And it may be that someone always readily downzaps posts from SS.

I've never experimented much with that. It does defy my understanding of the system.
Maybe mutes have something to do with it. I know ~Stacker_Sports is a heavily muted territory.
What business is it of anybody else what you do with your sats? I think they should make downzapping a lot more expensive than it is. Make the hate pay!!

I saw the idea of stacker sheriffs, not so sure that is a good idea. Centralizing power always seem to go awry, just look at that mess on Wikipedia.

It wouldn't necessarily come with any extra power. It was more of a nudge to keep the downzap option on people's minds.
