Anyone knows any project to colaborate, with an open backlog of features or bugs, where I can work?
It's very surprising that we are nearly approaching the year 2023 and bitcoin is not widely used as a tool for attracting and retaining talent.
There are some platforms that exist, but you'll likely be disappointed in what you find.
Freelancing platforms which pay in Bitcoin, and other ways to earn bitcoin https://cointastical.medium.com/freelancing-platforms-which-pay-in-bitcoin-e38be56166df
Here's a for-instance.
Replit has added a Bounties marketplace. I saw that and was thinking "Awesome, ... this could possibly become big!". Then I read and found what is it that the bounty-earner receives. They don't receive fiat. And they don't receive bitcoin or other cryptocurrency either ... but instead they earn Replit "cycles" (i.e., credit towards future use of Replit service). Give me a friggin break!!
But these freelancer / gig / task work / bounty platforms are not needed beyond the "matchmaking" phase. When an employer needing services finds a competent provider/worker, they likely will have further work they would like to have performed and that is where the opportunity presents itself for you to negotiate for your services to be paid in bitcoin.

If someone built a github plugin that allowed me to attach/negotiate sat bounties to issues, I'd use it in a heartbeat ... This was the other thing I was considering building around the time I built SN.

I see GitPay and Bountysource, .. both use fiat only. And require doxing yourself (and being sent a 1099, for those in the U.S.).
I can see that being a significant factor that holds back the use of bitcoin for freelancing, at least at the level where the employer hires/contracts with the freelancer directly, due to reporting and withholding requirements for the employer. And that's not just in the U.S. where that is a problem.

Could be interesting to have a tab in jobs for bounties and start having a work backlog there?
reply
We've discussed adding more task oriented features to jobs. I imagine we'll eventually have them kind of like 'link or discussion', it'll be 'job or task'.

Thank you so much! That’s true. 2022 and still at this point. But patience will worth it. I apréciate the links

I cannot understand why the login method is Lightning everywhere. Email is obsolete.
reply
I guess because we’re still early, I just learned about this today

I've been poking them on twitter to add lightning/bitcoin integration. Isn't replit open source itself? Let's build PR it :D https://twitter.com/agbegin/status/1598447984022360065

A lot of open source work is done for free. If you're looking to get paid to work on open source normally you'll need to find a company that primarily works on open source or get a grant. Normally the best way to get started is to contribute to projects you personally use and fix/ add things you want. After you've made meaningful contributions people will be more open to paying you

I mean, like sphinx, without CV and without any selection process...

I'm working on publishing bounties for Galoy (builders of bitcoin beach wallet and the open source banking platform it runs on)
Recently created a channel called "Bounties and PRs" in our chat to have a good place for folks to collab/discuss: https://chat.galoy.io/galoy/channels/bounties-and-prs
We've been posting bounties in github discussions, here: https://github.com/GaloyMoney/galoy/discussions
We'll be adding more in the coming weeks so feel free to pick something up or just check out the "good first issues" in the repos if interested.

Have completed (and been paid directly over LN) for few Sphinx bounties. So far seems like great dev community there.
