I don't wanna buy a cold wallet, I think they are very expensive , what's best way to hold my cooins if I don't want to buy btc? I'm currently using electrum and have my seed phrase written on paper on two places at the home
I think you can pick up a jade for like $70, and that is a good route to go for beginners

  1. Install GrapheneOS.
  2. Install wallet in main user profile.
  3. Create secondary user profile.
  4. During user creation flow you can choose to install or add apps already installed in the main profile. Choose to install your wallet app from main profile.
  5. Turn off access to SMS and Phone.
  6. Turn off Run in Background.
  7. Login, disconnect from internet.
  8. Create your wallet. Write down seed.
  9. Close second user profile.
Enjoy the closest thing to a cold wallet on a phone imo.
Bonus: If you install a trusted VPN or Orbot in your main profile, you add it to the secondary user profile during install too. That way, you can set them up to connect and run as full-device VPN with the android setting to be "Always-on" + block all connections outside them. Once this is set up you can enable internet. Then it's obviously easier to send/receive transactions.
If you never want to be online every with this profile, note that connections are device-wide on Android so you can't be offline in the second user while on wifi with the main one.
And if you're never online with this profile, obviously that adds some hurdles to using the wallet to send/receive. Receive less-so, just generate a receive address and scan QR with a second phone or something.
What this does is it keeps your main user's connection separate from your secondary user. So you don't visit Facebook with the same IP as you're broadcasting a transaction or downloading bitcoin stuff in the second user if you're on the same WiFi.
Installing in main profile then adding to the second means you don't need to browse around installing or updating apps in the second profile. You do that from the main one even if you don't use the wallet or apps there. I think you can disable em and they'll still update (and be updated for the second user too).

What do you think about having 2 electrum wallets on same device one for workspace one on the main space , one without internet other one with internet access , the one without internet access having private keys, the one with internet access not having private keys , and do the same process with trails ... , it just came to my mind that this method could work without pc or desktop

There is no close option like this for mobile?

I think you mean a hardware wallet or Coldcard?
Software wallets on your phone might be enough to secure a small amount of Bitcoin. Just make sure you keep a backup written down somewhere safe.

Add a passphrase (25th word) to make it better
reply
Having the decoy wallet written on paper and having the main wallet with the word added
reply
Yeah without writing that phrase anywhere, just one phrase to make sure I remember

Grab a tap signer for 30 $ but ... If you don't want buy it or you want to learn sovereignty, try this. Download verify and install tails os and ian Coleman tool on a USB. Pick a set of genuine casino dices and throw it to pick your entropy Be aware of cameras and viewers You need at least to generate true entropy for 12 words for your seed and another 12 words recommended for your passphrase If you don't want to calculate the checksum of yours seeds you can pick entropy for 11 words and try to find the 12th word just picking randomly until it generates a valid seed you can verify this on ian Coleman or in sparrow. Once you have generated your 2 12 word bip39 seeds you can write it to a paper one is the seed and the other works as a passphrase . Derive it and write too your fingerprint and descriptors. Reboot tails and rehydrate the seeds , check against your fingerprint. Stamp these seeds in stainless steel washers (google blockmit) and label it as seed and pass, make many copies. Check to rehydrate again always on tails. Write the extended pub key. Format or destroy the USB. Enter your ext pub key in whatever device you want sparrow for example. Hide you washers in different locations never near seed of pass Now you can hodl here. Your pkeys aren't in any digital device and you can save on the more hard money human had known. Zap me later.
A wallet (I use blockstream green, but sparrow will do as well) on your laptop and a paper backup of the keys.
Also, I personally run a Linux laptop (always updated to the latest Debian LTS) and would never use any other OS for this purpose.

yeah, good enough. Maybe place a third back-up (on paper or metal) away from the home (fire/floods/storm) -- family home, summer house, office etc.

I'll keep them safe

a $50-$100 ebay laptop with clean linux install is the best solution
