The suggestion that people who “run knots” (flag disapproval of mempool default policy change) are now also altcoin supporters.
It shows how desperate the core side is.
Luke Dashjr’s actions or character have actually nothing to do with the disagreement of mempool policy change.
The knots client is standing in until we have a new consensus reference implementation.
That's fair. I can see how someone running knots could be unfairly categorized as supporting everything Luke does/says/intends when they merely like having more control over their mempool policy.
I think that's a sign of how out of control this debate has become. I've also seen people who intend to run the latest versions of Core, not necessarily because of mempool policy changes but for security and robustness reasons, get treated like they are pro-spam, pro-csam, pro-non-monetary bitcoin usage.

yeah I am also guilty of at least thinking like this, but I try to not express it as much, because I know it's wrong to assume
in my mind, Knots/filter supporters (or whatever way I want to mislabel them) are so far away from me and my understanding of how bitcoin works or what it is, that to them and me, it must look like we're just looking at homogenous blobs of people with no nuances
for example, I also don't like what Core is doing in some way, but I don't like what Luke Dashjr is doing so much less, that it might look like I am actually totally agreeing with Core, lol
