People using sats is good. I'm fairly agnostic as to what they do with the sats (that is what I see as the point of money -- everyone can use it their own way).

If I encouraged someone to buy my posters with sats it seems good.

If I encouraged people to get on SN and zap pay to post it seems good.

If I encouraged someone to zap a post on nostr it seems good.

If I encouraged someone to use sats on Predyx it seems good.

Many people have a completely irrational response to gambling as a recreational activity.

If I spend a fraction of what Darth spends on beer on gambling, he freaks out, even though I make more sats back than I wager. So, a recreational activity that generates sats is worse than every other recreational activity that purely costs sats.

When I drink 10 beers I do not do any harm on any other individual, only to me. When you gamble (gambling is not "recreational") you are doing harm to others. In some years ahead, when you will not have enough sats to buy food, you will remember my words, warning you not to gamble with your sats. We are not the same. Spend your sats wisely, only when is needed, for really what is need it. Gambling is not a necessity. Gambling is a scam.

It would be just as easy to say that you'll remember my words when you're drunk in a ditch having spent all your sats.

People spend money to do things they enjoy. I spend less gambling (leaving aside what I earn back) than most people spend on their recreational activity of choice. There's no reason this would leave me impoverished before your drinking makes you broke.

We promoted Predyx in exactly the same way before they supported the show. It's no different than any other sponsorship we would consider, but like I said, many people are completely irrational when gambling comes up.

Additionally, it might be said that bitcoin wouldn't gave ever gotten going without things like Satoshi Dice getting people to play with it.
