Ever since I read Atlas Shrugged many years ago I've respected Rand. She doesn't get enough credit. Her influence is incredible actually, regardless of whether people call themselves objectivists or talk about her.

I enjoy watching old clips of her interviews. Besides Ron Paul her writings really were a bIg influence on my thinking. I was drawn to read Atlas because so many people seemed to hate and mock it. But they didn't seem to have read it.. A pattern I've seen repeated over and over again.

I actually prefer some of her other books but Atlas made me think in new ways. To me, she is the prime example of the absurdity of the feminist movement. She is never mentioned in the lists of influential women and yet there is no woman than can touch her influence with Atlas Shrugged alone. If the feminist movement was actually about women she would be at the top of the list but it's not. It's about politics and Rand didn't play their game.

I do love mentioning her books to see the kind of reactions I get. It's a good test.

A. Do they know her at all B. Do they hate her C. Have they even read anything by her or are they just parroting a line.
