And the US isn't even imperialist, we're just rich and have a lot of friends. We wanted the same for China but Mao decided to keep the country poor.
LMAO.
Nice story bro.
You have a better one? Really seems like nearly all of China's issues after the civil war were self-inflicted.
Now China has the rare earths supply chain stranglehold the US military industrial combine is crippled.
Study Chinas hisory going back at least to The Opium Wars and from there until the present day and you might understand China today better than you do currently.
Peter Hesslers books on modern China are very good. Enjoy :)
That can't be healthy to be using a period of victimhood as the starting point for understanding a country. I think I'd rather start with the Ming.
Yes, the further you go back the better, but to understand the modern era you must at least understand from The Opium Wars onward.
There's no such thing as state capitalism. There's capitalism and there's statism. You can't just make up words to blame statist policies on capitalist ideals, and give statist ideals credit for capitalist policies.
Statism/communism/socialism is when the government does stuff. Capitalism is when the market is allowed to do stuff.

Trump is now copying China because China has beaten USA at capitalism.
USA cannot fight a war of any scale now because China controls the supply of refined rare earths.
Chinas mixed economy - state capitalism hybrid vigour model of economic and strategic development has won the trade war and contest for global power projection hegemony.
Just take your time to let it sink in...you'll get over it.
Power comes out of the barrel of a gun made with rare earths - and you don't have one.
What war are you talking about? Where? With who? You think the PRC can handle a naval war with the US, Japan, South Korea, real China, and Australia? For what? So you can expand your tax base by a few percentage points? Go for it.
The war that is already underway between China and the US for global hegemony via multiple proxies - see the middle east, Ukraine, Venezuela, Cambodia, Myanmar, Russia, Iran, Africa!

You didn't notice? Oh dear.
USA is on the backfoot now with its military industrial combine crippled by its lack of secure rare earths supply chain.
China won the trade war and now seeks global hegemony and supremacy over the decaying US imperialists- and it looks like they might gain it.
Yes, but you do not yet understand how state capitalism has beaten US imperialism.
