Stacker News and Nostr complement each other beautifully. While Nostr has the quick wits, opinions, pictures, hints of boobs or deep thoughts from people around the world, Stacker News has the value sorted recent events and news creating a base for "current knowledge worth knowing". Even better, the knowledge is "peer-criticized" in the comments. The combination of the two then creates a virtuous cycle with clearly aligned incentives.

From Nostr posts you may find interesting links worth posting on SN and from SN posts you may gain the knowledge to show off your smarts on Nostr. In both directions you get paid for doing the "desirable", you get to voluntarily pay for things you like and you are forced to pay for doing things that are "undesirable".

SN has more signal than any social media including Damus.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the SN NIP-57 integration ends up driving more people to spend their Nostr earnings on SN, thus helping SN content creators earn more sats and create even better content.

Feels like there is a big flywheel effect forming thanks to the speed and ease of making LN payments and the fact that sats are interoperable across platforms.

I also use my SN NIP-5 on Nostr as well as my wallet here for zap/tip, but I'm using SN less and less and Nostr more and more, mainly because I can control who I want to read and more important whose post or comments I never want to see.

i’ve been a big fan/casual user of Stacker News for years now, but i’ve never been as active as i have in the past few months since really getting into nostr. simpatico for sure!

Like others I've also been wondering how long before we need to go to s/ format on here.

I normally come to SN to see what the current thing is in bitcoin and what people are arguing about, usually its a distilled version of Twitter and to an extent now Nostr, and if I want to dive in more, ill bounce over to Nostr

I feel Stacker News is like a lively marketplace where everyone congregates to share what they are doing. I was led to explore Nostr because of Stacker News. And Stacker News has maintained my enthusiasm for Nostr because so many developers come here to promote their projects. Their entrepreneurial spirit is infectious - and I just love how the community backs these projects up with sats. Every day is an adventure and revelation here!

SN NIP-05 is the surest LN address to connect Nostr with, it's fast and when zapped, it comes in without charge

Stacker news is the only fun social media that I really enjoy. I am addicted to trolling on twitter though.

It does bother me a bit that these posts here on SN are not notes searchable in Nostr apps though. It feels like a Nostr app that is formatted like this would blow SN out of the water. -Because that would be searchable in Nostr and of course be decentralized.

Still love this place though, beats the hell out of r/bitcoin.
