if you consider CASHU ecach tokens ok, you would consider Fedimint ecash ok too?

reply

I do not consider them OK. Are just custodial tokens for your sats.
For the onboarding phase, we can consider them as useful evil.

If this is the case, I feel you are missing some wallets on this list https://fedimint.org/wallets

fedimints are a trap that will end up into stablecraps...
a cashu mint at least is user's own choice and responnsibility.

well ok, not yet stablecrap... In fedimint you can choose and pick the federation/mint you want to join too. I honestly see no difference. afaik fedimint ecash is interoperable between federations too, same as cashu tokens are between mints.

Would your opinion on ZEUS change if fedimint at some stage get implemented?

reply

It is. If I use a cashu mint, I use it because I know who run it. Maybe is my neighbor, maybe is a friend, maybe is a merchant where I usually buy my beers.

But in a fedimint, you don't really know who is behind that. Just because is a federated custody it doesn't mean is safer.

With choosing a single cashu mint, the responsibility fall over each user. IS THEIR responsibility to choose wisely.

We do not use cashu to just give up on responsibility, but just to make it easier with the first steps on receiving sats. If you go further, you will lose.

Allowing a non-pure tool?

Alright. Fess up. Who are you and what have you done to Darth?
