This was in response to the AI claiming climate change is a significant threat to human well being and i asked if it was aware that we are on the cusp of world war 3 and 4 to which it responded that it had been cutoff from new knowledge since 2021. I dont even know what to say :) Its like the mainstream media which also lives in the past

Looking for a job...but not easy after 50 years old :(
reply
0 sats \ 0 replies \ @faithandcredit 1 Mar
I very much doubt thats true. 50 year olds are dependable and larger and larger portions of the people coming into the job market today are pathetic. But thats the trend. They cant even show up on time or at all. They just cant. You would be surprised how bad it is.

Is it me, or is LN channel management a real PITA? I'm new to it, learning as I go but seesh!

Depends. If you are just running a private node, then not really. But if you want to be a well connected routing node, then you should have a good knowledge about it.
reply
0 sats \ 0 replies \ @tomlaies 28 Feb
Yup, you either need to automate channel management yourself or have a node that is only meant for your own personal use without other people frequently routing through it (high fees and limited number of big channels)

Today:
- I need to do a lot of note organizing
- I have too many books on the go
- I may need to block Twitter at the hosts file because shit is getting too crazy in Canada and I shouldn't continue just reacting to it
Have a blessed day every one

Twitters a weird one because, on there, staying up to date is (almost) indistinguishable from being in an echo chamber.

I just realized I don't understand how the "top" sorting in comments works. If it takes not only number of Sats into account but number of users voting and how old it is too ... then where is the difference to "hot"?
reply
5 sats \ 3 replies \ @ekzyis 28 Feb
i think you missed the trust score of users
new users have less trust and their upvotes thus are taken less into account
reply
0 sats \ 2 replies \ @tomlaies 28 Feb
Oh but in "top" as well? I thought the "top" sorting was the needy b*tch that wants sats and sats only
Anyways, good to know

i am not sure, better ask @k00b

It's not sats only. It does take into account trust.
The difference between hot and top is that hot takes time into account, ie all things being equal more recently posted items rank higher.

Using this daily as shameless self-promotion:
Just deployed the first version of minesats: https://minesats.gg/
See here for more info: https://stacker.news/items/145031
Will take a break now and maybe fix the ranking bug later.
Also, my sleeping schedule seems to be finally fixed! I get up at 6AM now
(last week I slept some time between 6AM and 8PM lol)
