kudos to the developers of this app... just logged in on a new browser with lightening and the bolt flashing down the screen right as my phone captured the QR code was soooooo satisfying. This makes me want to ditch my password manager.

Just earned first sats by selling at https://plebeian.market/. Interesting feeling indeed.
Decentralization is beginning to become less and less appealing I mean look at what other cryptos are doing and outperforming btc in terms of returns and users, and then there is nostr which is clunky and probably always will be unless it centralizes. The case for decentralization does not seem strong atm.
reply
Decentralization is more appealing because of resilience and altruism.
See, decentralization builds resilient systems, which is a far better value proposition than centralized innovation. Consider the case of supply chains during the pandemic. Centralized government scrambled and fumbled and inevitably made things worse, while decentralized markets rerouted supply chains to mitigate damage and keep food on the shelves. It doesn't matter if your investment gives quick returns if it is going to crash like a house of cards when times get rough.
Beyond that, decentralization is incredibly altruistic. You are sacrificing the here and now ease of use for long term benefit of society. Bitcoin is occasionally a bit harder for me to use irl than Venmo right now, it helps to make sure that my children and their children's children will live in a better world.
If you want to use different cryptos for a strange form of online gambling, that's your choice. But if you have an invested interest in long term success, decentralize.

If the case for decentralization does not seem strong, I don't think you have been paying attention last year.

Free your mind, Neo. We can only show you the Matrix. You must unplug yourself.

I'll pull a @DarthCoin and say if you're still thinking about returns and other cryptos just give me your sats. Bitcoin is the hardest money ever created. Bitcoin will win, shitcoins will die.

@DarthCoin 's tough love is just what this powder-pants, pansy-panty wearing world needs!
reply
Exactly. At this level, we don't need to try to convince the haters anymore. Just send them a nice HFSP and ... more sats for us.

Decentralisation is our only real shot at freedom. Everything else is a distraction.
Good luck with your centralized fiat gains as long as your government allows you to keep it.
