Can we get a warning if we are about to lose the hat? And also does Stacker.news have DMs?
reply
I think the cowboy hat thing is a silly distraction and the logo is fine as is.

I just want my cowboy hat back.

Heard so much about Nostr; a simple, open protocol that enables global, decentralized, and censorship-resistant social media.
Today am Learning on how to use it via "Amethyst" a mobile app. Have already shared my Nostr public key with a friend but secured my private key though.

Good morning Stakers, hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday, birds are chirping, breeze is cool, air is fresh and the coffee is poured. About to get the day going so I wish you all a fantastic Sunday funday, go out, a walk at the park, sitting on the porch, sipping some iced tea, fix something in the house, just relax and soak the day in. You've got this and you're important. Be well and stay frosty.

Did you just call us stakers? lol

What do you think about the bitcoin article on bitcoin magazine that says bitcoin adoption will take 60 years?
reply
It was a good article and he made valid points. I hope he's wrong. I'm getting old.

Hey @k00b
I really like the cowboy hat thing it's good idea.
But have you thought about branding consistency? The logo of StackerNews is ”electricity”, the name StackerNews is like HackerNews which has an oldschool 00s Internet simplicity association, all errors have the Alice in Wonderland branding and the cowboy hats are something else again.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it doesn't have to be 1 thing. Just a thing to be aware of in the future. 🙄
Anyways, cheers 🍻

Yeah I know. Going to have to pick a lane

It's good to intentionally consider mix of really contrasting worlds. The contrast can have an effect of surprise, the variance sparks new ideas, etc. And it's important to also have fun with all of this in the end.
But again, it's good to be intentional about this and not overdo it - I'd say mix of at most 2 styles is a good rule of thumb. One style for everything and one style to complement it to surprise and delight.
reply
Also the contrasts can work well together ;)
@k00b @kr FYI :)

Nah SN eccentricity is part of the charm. Sure if you want to turn it into a huge media brand you will have to streamline but for what it is, it's great. Direct messages would be awesome though.

Time with family, listening fountain podcasts, an LN learning. Recently encountered Liquid Bitcoin, where I read claims that the use case is for larger payments while Lightning is for micro. Looks way more centralized. Is it really a thing?

Hey @k00b when SN user wallet based on lndhub? That way the (freaked) Bluewallet users could "convert" their old lndhub.io accounts into SN lndhub accounts in the same Bluewallet app and also could use it to login.
I know many BW users that still want to use BW to sign into SN and they are looking for funding sources. As I tried to explain them in this SN post.
Everybody win with a SN lndhub wallet.

Good idea by Darth here.

Still really cold here in the Northeast US. I'm driving south about 250 miles this morning. I hope that makes a difference.

Hey, I am in Málaga/Spain and is has fu..ing humidity and 16 degrees C. I need something strong to overcome this winter this year. Greets and happy freezing
reply
I took the ferry from Malaga over 30 years ago. I'd trade being there over here any day. You can't beat the south of Spain.
reply
That's so true. Only thing I need from time to time is Frangokastello in Crete at the south coast. Total peace. Are You in Germany?
reply
Oh no. I live in New York though I'm working right outside Washington D.C. for a few months. I used to travel more when I was younger. I have been to Germany a few times. Munich and Cologne as a teenager and Berlin a few years after the wall came down.
reply
Wow. I remember I have been at the Tennis Masters 1989 for the first time in NY. I saw McEnroe live in the Garden.... You can't imagine the feelings that theses impressions of this 'city' burn into Your soul and memory.
reply
I was born in NYC and have lived here most of my life. Deep down I still love it, but I'm very angry and disappointed with the direction New York has taken over the past 50 years. Now I feel like family is the only reason I stay.
reply
I understand You perfectly. Same thing with Germany for me. I left, learned spanish, opened a 2nd small business over here and here we go... I feel spanish in a way now that we even go to the bull fights...
I wish You and Your fam good luck and veeeery strong nerves
Is bitcoin more like a life raft, or a rocket ship?
reply
It's a life raft strapped on a rocket ship powered by the sun.
reply
It's a new planet.

It's a generation ship
