pull down to refresh

Something from the vaults. Not sure if it's more suitable for a short- or long form note. I'll probably include it in The Basics of Yoga pt. 2 (the keys to life in the first chapter are "fun" and "sacrifice" and even though I haven't begun the 2nd one (or have I...?) the keys in that one are "create" and "let go"). Anyway...

"GIVING YOURSELF TO THE WORLD""GIVING YOURSELF TO THE WORLD"

Sharing yourself with the world, the universe, is, in a broad sense, the meaning of life. Because life prepares us for death and in death, we give our very lives to the universe and dissipate into the cosmic unity of everything. The process already starts when we are born. Everywhere we go and everything we do, think, say, we leave traces of ourselves, our ideas, our love, our life energy as it flows through us. So as we live out our lives, we are continually sharing, discarding and giving away fragments of ourselves to the world. The death of the physical body and thus letting go of any worldly possessions and relationships is just the final note that the whole symphony crescendos towards. Thus, I believe, one of the goals in the game of life is to give away as much of yourself as possible before the actual death. The more you give, the more united you become with the source and the easier and more pleasant the process of passing away will be.

i think that permanent death of the ego shud happen by the age of maturity; at that age, which varies by society, the man is capable to contribute all or a huge part of his efforts to his people's prosperity and make very few if any serious mistakes;

we are told stories of kings who rule starting in their teenage years; the naturally educated kids can live in high theta wave trance for decades, if not indefinitely; such type generally get shut in rabbithole universities & monitored carefully for signs of "true awakening;"

today, the age of maturity rarely arrives, since the vast majority of the world lives under statism - they sign themselves & their relatives up for perpetual servitude;

really, just cleanse urself of parasites, practice fire breath - autophagia and enjoy the benefits; no afterlife-corpse-in-dirt talk necessary; 😇

Beautifully written, as always.

Heavy for some people to think about, death. Maybe the world would benefit by doing what is hard, especially if it means self-sacrifice.
