Wilson is not bland. Wilson is ACCURATE. Because the Greek original is like that too. It's a theatre screenplay. The flavour comes from the acting, not from the text.

Both Fitzgerald and Fagles invent stuff out of thin air that isn't there in the original. From fiat. All this flowery language is bullshit and wrong.
