Yes, I've experienced that too....
Some notification types got faster after the recent commits, and I expected them to be slower at first given the deployment ... but I see that notifications overall are still slow, especially when cold-requested.
We're still researching ways to make them faster, sorry about the inconvenience. Will update once we have more details!
