Damn, I want one. 22TH/s at 300W?

Does anyone own one of these bad boys yet?

It does seem pricey at $800, but that efficiency is impressive.

Never heard of this vendor before, but archive sites show the domain has existed for awhile, so maybe they're legit. 300W is the perfect amount of heat generation for where I live, I might buy one even if it won't return a profit.

I have never owned one, but I have read reviews of their products for at least the past few years. I think they have a decent reputation because of the a2z miner.

This is the kind of home mining hardware I’d actually consider.

23 TH/s at around 330W, quiet fans, adjustable power modes, and the ability to deliberately use the heat in a room makes much more sense to me than trying to tame a full-size ASIC at home.

The interesting part isn’t just the hashrate. It’s making the waste heat useful.

reply

Agreed. I crank up an Avalon Q on full power to heat a room during the winter. It's too expensive to run at full power all year.

reply

Don't have one. Which ASIC does it use?

reply

I couldn't confirm the exact chip model from GekkoScience's own page, but I did find something interesting while looking into it.

The KBox mines SHA-256, so it isn't limited to Bitcoin. Kryptex currently lists QUAI-SHA256 as the most profitable coin for this particular miner.

Of course profitability can change quickly, but I hadn't realized a small home SHA-256 miner like this had that many options either. 😄

I don't know

Nice efficient unit.
Would seriously consider at $400.
Have been noticing an increasing range of home miners for sale on Aliexpress...but even there they remain quite expensive.
Too expensive to ever recover the cost of purchase even with free solar electricity.
625 watt PV panels are now selling retail in NZ for NZ$229 (USD$137.40)

China won the trade war-sorry.
