been a lurker for a while but the rewards pools lately got me to make an account.
i get the impression that it's just a few people zapping at each other that is doing this. so what's up with everyone else -- just bystanders? what gets you going, the reward sats or do you like the controversy?

I believe it's always more fun when rewards are bigger irrespective of they arise out of controversy or normal stacker behaviour.
If Zaps are life of SN, rewards are energy.
It's not sustainable but it's fun.

It's seems highly unlikely people are going to continue to spend hundreds of thousands of sats a day to downzap each other.
if bitcoin continues to be irrelevant and "valueless" (in relative/real terms) then it might be the best use of our dwindling monetary value!

I like the ability to have a say in what gets promoted. The big downzapped post that I noticed this week is a case of slander. The post gives no evidence for the accusation in the title. I like the idea that a bunch of people can all contribute to what they do and don't want to promote. I suppose if someone is willing to spend more than the whole community, there are still some ways unfair material is promoted, but they're going to have their resources depleted faster than if they just got on the good side of one gatekeeper. So I'd say that I'm a fan of downzaps because I'm not a fan of drama. They obviously don't get rid of drama necessarily, but they at least make the resolution more democratic by way of making it more expensive for the smaller party.
This is the only war that brings benefits to the common people.
