Thanks. It all seems to happen very suddenly now. Nothing for years, and then suddenly both a tenure track and tenure position have been materializing in the last few months.
Made some drastic decisions that are luckily paying off.
Sounds like an interesting approach. Wonder who will be leading this revolution in the publication landscape. For better or worse, Europe has been forcing their members to publish all their papers in open access journals now when one is funded by public money. But then, one has to find the funds to pay for the APC, so it's not a silver bullet either.

Congrats and hope you get it. Well deserved after a long journey it seems.
For Econ I think github is good enough for what we do. The bigger questions are surrounding proprietary or privacy-sensitive data, and sharing of extremely large datasets. Not as sure how to answer that. Code and methodology are easy enough to collaborate in with git.
In econ, I think a model of open source code/methodology, potentially closed access to the raw data, is the best we can hope for in near term
