Thanks. It all seems to happen very suddenly now. Nothing for years, and then suddenly both a tenure track and tenure position have been materializing in the last few months. Made some drastic decisions that are luckily paying off.
Sounds like an interesting approach. Wonder who will be leading this revolution in the publication landscape. For better or worse, Europe has been forcing their members to publish all their papers in open access journals now when one is funded by public money. But then, one has to find the funds to pay for the APC, so it's not a silver bullet either.
