I have been in business all my life- since the 1980s and can tell you that when NZ has a Labour (Socialist) government the economy thrives and business is good.
In contrast the National party who claim to be pro business are a complete disaster- they have done massive damage to NZs economy every time they are in power.
They sold off our previously state owned power generators and now NZ consumers and businesses pay far more for electricity. These neoliberal politicians are owned by corporate parasite lobbyists and they do not know how to manage an economy to maximise wealth creation...all they do is what their corporate parasite sponsors ask for- it is corrupt...it is TREASON!

The NZ public health service delivers basic health care to all citizens and residents in an extremely cost effective manner- the US system in comparison is a complete waste and hugely inefficient and inequitable. Not providing basic healthcare to all citizens is insane economic self sabotage...you are undermining your human capital and causing huge waste and inequity.
It's not the state's responsibility to manage electricity costs nor should it be managing the cost of any other product or service. It's immoral for the state to be meddling in market affairs. One day it's a carbon tax and before long you end up with Laurel Hubbard.

In China electricty is supplied at less than half the cost it is available in any modern industrialised economy- this is a huge factor in what enables China to out compete USA and EU.
