It would be great if future students in the same boat felt sufficiently empowered to keep going.
That'd be pretty cool, indeed. I'm sure the field will adapt anyhow. The second-hand market being flooden with math textbooks is probably just part of the adjustment period[1].

I was a student who loved learning advanced mathematics and teaching it.
I never felt like I had the creativity to make contributions to the field though, otherwise I would definitely have tried harder to get into a math graduate program.
