I agree with Darth on this one but my reasons are a bit different.
ChatGPT and AI is a tool. All tools are used for both good and evil. I don't think all uses of AI are inherently evil but I do think AI will be used to control us by those that want control. The future that Darth describes is entirely possible, you only have to study a bit of history to understand this.
When that bleak future comes, places that aren't touched by AI will have tremendous value. There will be people that want to escape the bullshit. And rest assured, AI will be used to create a lot of bullshit. Truth will be hard to come by, but that will make finding the truth even more important.
Integrating ChatGPT into SN is a choice. All choices come at a cost. Seeing the benefits is easy but the costs are more subtle. The costs may be hidden, only to reveal themselves once it's too late.
What I am trying to say here is to raise a big warning, for people, to start thinking hard and realize the dangers that could come.
Leave away the convenience and "it's a tool that could help" and think about the consequences of today's convenience.
Same the people choose communism because of convenience and stop fighting. And then was too late, their families were killed.
