I am going to explain from the financial and social psychology point of view. The fact that the BTC increases its value in the market causes people who have not been able to see its real value (there are millions of people) to be interested in acquiring it. It is like gold or diamonds, which are acquired for their high market value. You have to be able to understand that the financial value of the assets is very important for their adoption.

The point is:
The "adoption" will be for the wrong reasons. A lot of people will flock in because BTC reached 100k (or whatever the new ATH will be) and then will get burned when it crashes (because a lot of noobs just joined which are easy to manipulate).
Therefore, huge price spikes can actually be considered to do harm to sustained adoption.

With the actual level of idiocy in this world, I would prefer to not be any mass adoption. I prefer that BTC is only for people that use their brain.
