It seems the thing that unites most people around Bitcoin is the number go up. And its not healthy. But due to its decentralized nature it will likely sort itself out. I am not sure excactly what my point is btw. Have a nice day
"Number go up" is what brings most people (especially in the west) to bitcoin. It's what initially brought me to bitcoin. It's been said by some people that it takes a couple of touches to gain a greater understanding of the "what" and "why" of bitcoin. Frankly, it's taken me a year, and I still have much to learn. I haven't even set up my own lightning node yet.

Unless you're very technical (you can run a server and troubleshoot errors), I'd say you're fine just using a non-custodial LN wallet like Breez. Running your own infrastructure is interesting and rewarding, but nerve-wracking.

Time to get started

I have never truly run a bitcoin node or an LN node despite being interested in bitcoin for many years

I'm not looking to get super rich, but I would like for my savings to not lose value. I'm also concerned how the banking system is being used to control people.
