I am trying to do 1 orange pill a month. I know that seems like a small number but I want to actually help people understand bitcoin and why it is different than crypto, not just convince them to buy 100 bucks worth. Not doing so great so far to be honest. Have only gotten 2 so far this year and one is pretty shaky, he keeps asking me about shitcoins.

Hey, don't worry about it being slow or small. Bitcoin is a complex idea, and thus it takes quite some time to spread. It happens a single person at a time, and through multiple discussions, comments, shared experiences, etc.
The book that really changed how I think about Bitcoin adoption is Change: How To Make Big Things Happen by Damon Centola. It explains complex contagions, which are complicated ideas that must be reinforced by multiple mechanisms over time in order to catch on. It takes time. That is natural and right. Never feel bad for it.

Creating a business card design which will include a QR code for my Fold Card referral link. I will leave one sitting on the counter at check out every time I shop somewhere, tape one to the handle or display screen at the gas pump, give to friends and neighbors when I see them, etc. If you live in an apt building you could put one in each mailbox or slide under their doors, or get creative in other ways. It is a less scalable strategy but for ~$20 you could get 100-200 cards printed and test out different ways of distributing them. Even if you get only 2-3 people to sign up, you may be able to break even on the endeavor financially notwithstanding the fact that you’re probably orange pilling many more people along the way. Maybe this is a dumb idea overall but it should be fun.

I’m just trying to write code that utilizes lightning. We are still so early that we need builders to make things.
Build it and they will come. Kind of like Apple Pay. It’s super easy to use - but many places don’t have it. Once enabling bitcoin transactions become one-click simple it will be 100x easier to onboard people.

I've been talking to friends and neighbors about bitcoin for years now. I can count on one hand the number of people who were receptive, and even then, I wouldn't say they're orange-pilled - I'm holding their coin for them. In general, I think there are way more people interested in money that can't be inflated and just works than in going through all the effort of self-custody.
I recently had this thought about using my kids as evangelists. They're too young to fully understand the implications of bitcoin but they also don't have any pre-conceived notions about money. My kids' school is already full of little hoodlums selling cans of Coke and candies and shit so it shouldn't be too hard to get bitcoin into the economy, but I'm not sure how to implement it. Most of the kids don't have phones (benefits of living out in the boonies), so it needs to be something physical, like a paper wallet in some sort of tamper-evident wrapper. Sats cards are too expensive for this use case. It doesn't have to be fool proof it's more about the educational value.
