Apple trashing Damus

I was never a big fan of Apple however I do have a mobile that I used mainly due to convenience.
With the recent Damus news, I have decided I’m done with Apple and I’m going to get a new phone.
Is anyone else doing the same and does anyone have any suggestions?

I have never used an Apple product other than the first ipod for music, but I'm in the process of going pixel/graphene. I'm sure it won't be as convenient, but it's a matter of principle now.

Exactly! Even if they reverse the decision it’s too late I’m out. I was looking at pixel/graphene as well.

Add Zeus as well! Been using apple products for over a decade now was even thinking about getting the vision pro but then coming after Zeus and Damus is absolutely ridiculous. Finding it painful to leave the brand but I will.

Yep I’m more or less in the same boat. Very disappointing news. Will probably get a degoogled phone like a pixel with graphene or lineage OS

A word of caution. Most of you tech savvy guys won't be this dumb, but I was. I just wasted a few hours I won't get back trying to unlock the bootloader on an "unlocked" Pixel 7 I bought at Best Buy. Turns out carrier unlocked doesn't mean bootloader unlockable. I ordered one today from Google. If I can manage to get graphene up and running, anyone can. Take my word for it. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not a big fan of any big corporation as Google, Apple or Meta. But you knew what you were getting into with a strict walled garden as Apple ecosystem. Still keeping my iPad for convenience.

Well not really my first iPhone was a hand me down iPhone and then I just stuck with iPhones because I was used to the IOS.
That’s why I say it was convenient for me to stick with them. I’m not really big into tech however over the last 1-2 years I have been researching Bitcoin. Anything that interferes with my use of Bitcoin I see as a threat to my financial freedom so that’s why I’m dropping them.
