The more history I learn about NYT the more convinced I am that it should be more shocking how much credence that institution is given vs the "problem" of fake news. The benefit of fake news is that it is slowly teaching society to question what they read. We should question everything we read/watch. It is far more dangerous to have blind trust in institutions like the state or NYT than it is to get tricked by a singular fake news story from time to time.
But you know what... my opinion doesn't matter. I don't need to express my opinion on the latest fake news story. What matters is my actions. Proof of work as an idea is not new but it is interesting how bitcoin has given me a different perspective on many things in the context of words/thoughts vs. action. Action is always better. Skin in the game always trumps words.

Oh it is hard to determine what is satire and what is legitimately trying to pass as news these days. They should make it much more clear on their website.

@FrickFrickFrick I don't know if you will see this but sincerely here is some advice. Don't take "people" online personal. None of this is real. I'm including myself here. We are all personas. You are as well. You are better off adjusting your perspective of online discourse. I'm not excusing or condemning anyone's behavior online but when you realize it isn't real... it changes the way you receive communications. I don't know you, you don't know me. We could have 1000s of exchanges on this site. You still don't know me. Don't kid yourself. I see this a lot online. Our online personas are just that. Personas. Not the real person.
Take it or leave it. My advice here is sincere, I have allowed others to trigger me online. I still do at times but now I realize, that's my flaw. I need to see the Internet for what it truly is.

I mean, they got me the first time too but seriously, if you take 5 minutes to look at their site it is pretty clear. Look at the author names for example.
