I go with Brave Search, and over the Brave browser, of course.
The searches work well, being able to filter with results from Google or Bing anonymously. And, being on the Brave browser, advertising is blocked, and the loading speed with the results is higher than others.
Brave Search displays search opinion results, grouped together, so to speak.
If you are looking for something related to social networks such as Reddit, LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook, it is shown grouped and with the concise and exact answer. Very useful.
Many times, looking for a programming question, I have found the answer in the first items (those grouped by Brave Search) without having to enter the pages.
I have tried others, but in the end, this is my favorite for simplicity and comfort in the results. Sometimes I have seen, however, that I have to search on Google directly, and you find even more accurate results.

Brave is nice, sadly it has a shitcoin included, which is a deal breaker for me. I'm using LibreWolf atm, with ublock origin to block ads.

That shitcoin is not mandatory, nor use it, nor see it. You can disable the function of seeing ads completely, and even the web3 wallet function if you prefer not to use any wallet or use another one in your browser.
Also, one thing that I like more than any other browser is that it allows you to synchronize with any other device without having to register on any site, that is, without delivering email or the like.
In any case, here we were discussing search engines, and in that section, any browser will do, since you only have to add the options you want to the list.
Brave Search, Startpage, DuckDuckGo or any of the above are great, and are better than using Google or Bing directly.

I refuse to use any service that supports a shitcoin, no matter how good their service or intentions are.

Self-host Whoogle or Searx on a free Oracle Cloud machine. Here’s an example of Whoogle https://www.whoogle.click/

That also works. I wish it had a better frontend design.

Just use whoogle. Startpage has been around for years, it's nothing new, if you want a Google alternative and still get decent results go for DuckDuckGo, you can even use it via tor if you're that worried about basic privacy.
