I'm not woke but I find bitcoiners who post shit like this and hide behind claiming to be "truth seeking" are just assholes: https://twitter.com/juice_key_/status/1689736747125547008
reply
It’s incorrect grammar to use “woke” as an adjective. The right word is “awake.” It was just used this way by blacks who don’t know proper English.
reply
Using only "awake" does not convey the same meaning since it's missing the political background
reply
language and culture evolve
reply
i find it a little funny you have to preface that statement with "i'm not woke," like calling out assholes is frowned upon unless you're a beta-male cuck or something. when did not being shitty to other people become a politically divisive sentiment?
reply
Because, sadly, that tweet was not ratioed, got many retweets and likes, and comments defending it were making it about identity politics.
reply
that's fair

I finished 100 days of coding with python on Replit. It wasn’t so bad. I have an idea on how to use html css and flask. Now it’s actually doing something with what I learned
reply
As a non-coder myself but IT literate nontheless, how do you see Python's future in light of the .js developments of late?
reply
Not sure to be honest. I think it will have its place it’s very user friendly

Someone may be able to better explain from a coding point of view, but for example, BRC20/Ordinals and Recursion etc was highlighting the human fuckery of coding languages compared to what's achievable with less using JavaScript.
(apologies if I'm not explaining the best, pretty new to things, down the rabbithole...)
reply
Yep, webassembly is giving web and js devs access to the power of the gpu, such as your example of 3D rendering in realtime. This creates the potential to run ai inference on the edge (on user's computer) with cross compatibility across platforms and browsers, meaning no need to target each platform - iOS, android, windows - with a native app.
The other potential that webassembly - which I know less about - is enabling safer and more secure application, maybe delivered as progressive webapps. If i recall correctly this is something supertestnet was talking about on a podcast - write a js implementation of lighning with webassembly - and something Mutiny wallet might be doing?

Learning about Muun wallet
reply
Make sure you look at the pros and the cons (the self-custody debate, ease of use, recovery process etc etc)
reply
I know there are lots of issues with Muun, but is there a good option for a wallet that does what Muun is advertised as doing (dual use non-custodial Bitcoin and Lightning wallet)?
reply
Not really a recommendation but I use different wallets for different reasons. Take a look at Phoenix and see if that fits any of your requirements.

I have been digging about health lately, and it turned out that shitcoins are exactly the same like modern medicine, with all the complicated names and "fancy solutions" but without actually solving the root cause. 🫡

Third day at the new job. Last day sharing an office with the old yard electrician. Once he's gone the real gun begins because I'm going to organize the office, try to move a bunch of stuff into storage to make room for my stuff, since eventually I will share that office with the new yard electrician. (I'm a yacht electrician)
I'm also bringing a diagnostic device called the SureTest circuit analyzer. You plug this into outlets and it runs automated texts checking the wiring for polarity, proper grinding, voltage drop, and a few other things. I plan to go around the yard to get an idea for the quality of the electricity at various plugs around the yard. This is mostly just busy work until the materials they ordered for me come in, and they start putting me on boats to work.
Happy Friday! I hope we all make it into the weekend feeling good.

What is the most bitcoin-y animal?
Honey badger is a popular choice but I quite like mountain goats and tardigrades.
reply
"cyber hornets"
reply
Tardigrades are a good call. I’m thinking hedgehogs as well…
reply
Unfortunately hedgehog populations are on a continuous decline, so I hope Bitcoin doesn't follow a similar fate. :[
reply
Have to hope hedgehogs make it. As a kid in the UK we used to have to check the bonfire pile before setting light to it.
Fairly certain that an Australian disgraced former children’s tv presenter highlighting their plight in the UK wasn’t in their favour…
I think his show was called ‘Animal Hospital’ and involved squashed hedgehogs, paraplegic squirrels and one-legged pigeons. Before he got 5 years for kiddy fiddling.
‘Can you guess what it was yet?’
reply
UK also. I rescued a baby hedgehog I found alone during winter a few years back. :D
I also remember Animal Hospital. Harris being convicted was definitely one of my bigger "WTF" moments.
reply
People need to be held accountable for their actions - no matter how historic. Operation Yewtree kicked over a particularly unpleasant rock of UK celebrity culture.

Penguin. Almost indifferent to the wider climate, comfortable in water and on land, work together to protect the group and are dangerous when threatened. Also as a plus they can hold the rank of colonel-in-chief in the Norwegian military.

I think I prefer Bitcoin as a mycelial network. A giant, old fungus that keeps the ecosystem healthy and balanced
