random thought for sn feature:
Add "stickers" to another user's profile. In profile, show the top 3 most awarded stickers from others.
What does it solve? Instantly get an impression about what the rest of SN thinks of this user.
Would be a โ‚ฟadge of honor to have these on your profile (โšก โ‚ฟ ๐Ÿงก ๐Ÿ’ฏ, etc.) Suspects could be flagged by the community with ๐Ÿค– (AI bot) or ๐Ÿ’ฉ (shitcoiner) or ๐Ÿ‘ป (spooky).
It's kinda like the outlaw feature, but purely cosmetic.
Flair becomes signal?
obligatory opt-out in settings, yada...
Please no.
I hate all those "achievements"
If you actually use SN you already know the reputation of the users.
reply
This is kinda like an alternative method of calculating the trust of a user, which SN already does for weighting zaps in determining content ranking.
Interesting idea! What do you propose it costs to vote on an emoji for a user? I assume you can change your vote over time?
reply
I suppose each user can leave max one sticker per profile and update it whenever
the price of a usual post seems reasonable for MVP, treat it like a comment on the bio maybe
Could get fancy with pricing model to the stickers to reputation somehow. Or maybe to thwart abuse if becomes needed.
I was thinking purely cosmetic, maybe even free?

What prevents someone from creating a bunch of sockpuppet accounts and awarding themselves a bunch of whatever emojis they want.
reply
What prevents someone from tipping puppets to keep their hat from blowing away?
reply
Could show the number of awards.

Reminded of linkedin endorsements and all the requests to endorse people

Sybil fees. These cost monies?
reply
Maybe you need to have tipped/stacked some threshold of sats before you can give stickers
reply
There's stuff we can do for sure
but if it doesn't cost work, money, or reputation it will be abused.
reply
Maybe the sticker "fades" and falls off after a while. Then at least you can convert sock puppets into monthly active users lol
reply
I like this, also bad reputations can "fade away" too with good behaviour

I am eager to see more "cowboy" items from @k00b ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The cowboy hat is already a very important item.

hard pass. this place doesn't need more help being an echo-chamber.

I am still learning about sticker, why they give me a cowboy at the first time, and then I lost it.. ๐Ÿ˜…
Maybe someone can explain it ๐Ÿ˜ณ #learnSN

Cool idea. I'd also like there to be a minimum threshold for showing a sticker.
reply
yes, as an opt-in feature
reply
I like it
reply
I'm a bit torn on this, I like the idea but I also like how clean SN is
reply
Maybe the toggle to hide all stickers is for you. Might still want to ๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ at what's on your own bio from time-to-time

Do you have your 15 pieces of flair?
reply
If you want me to wear 37 pieces of flair like your pretty boy Brian over their, why don't you just make the minimum 37 pieces of flair!
reply
SN could accomplish this via Nostr badges.
