I'm taking a flight today and dreading sitting for hours with my scapula internally rotated.

On the first flight in, seated next to two likewise metabolically suffering men, I was dreaming of an airplane that had 1/3 the seats even if it meant the ticket cost was 50% higher, an airplane with only seats that are first class width.

That's at least one thing I think Satoshi Airways would have. What's one thing you'd like Satoshi Airways to have?

People who own private airplanes are perfectly allowed to let their friends travel on them without kyc

Someone should use that fact to start a no kyc airline

Being based in New Zealand most of the flights I take are long haul (10hrs+). The economy class with Air New Zealand is pretty good. Free wifi, modern screen with lots of entertainment, great food & service all included. It would be a lot better if there was ~25% more space. I would be ok with removing the other two classes, business & premium economy, to make room for everyone. It might not have to cost that much more than economy and would be cheaper than premium economy.

e.g. the layout of the plane we flew in for the NZ to Texas 14hr flight. If the whole plane's layout was XX-XXXX-XX and perhaps the middle seats were angled towards the aisle in pairs, e.g. XX-LLRR-XX, then that could be cool. Having only 2 seats by the window instead of 3 means if you're travelling with a partner then it's less likely for your group to be blocked from the aisle by a stranger or have to get up to let a stranger out of their seat. This can be an issue for long haul flights when people are sleeping and someone needs to use the bathroom.

Oh and direct flights between all the major cities with Bitcoin conferences would be awesome

Non-intrusive entrance and exits to/from the flight.

Yes! Sides should open up like wings

Solution: value for value! You want Airplane to move 300lbs of meat, you pay for the extra space, fuel consumption, etc. Just like shipping any other package. Subsidizing the oversize is fiat as fuck.

reply

Use Segwit Airlines for the witness discount. Just gotta fly inside your luggage case instead of in the passenger cabin.

reply

lol and Taproot Airlines is you don't know where you're headed until you landed?

reply

Chancellor seats yes.

The overnight flight between east and west coast would be on purpose slower and take 9 hours, so you can comfortably sleep 8 hours.

With a hybrid airship, this would also be remarkably efficient and cost effective.

Satoshi Airlines would be extremely reliable, they've never missed a flight since they opened their services to the gen pop.

They never paid a cent for advertising, relying solely on word of mouth to find passengers willing to fly with them.

They let you decide how much you want to pay them for their services, but they'll also allow anyone to take your spot on the plane, provided they paid a higher fee to fly than you did.. So maybe take a look around the terminal and price your fees accordingly.

A gun holster under every seat 🤣

And instead of seed oil -esque peanuts, free frangible bullets if you forgot to bring some yourself 🤣

First order of business, Bring back the Concorde, we want supersonic travel

Privacy for sure.

Pay by consumption, maybe? In other words, your rate is proportional to the weight/capacity of what's flying (yourself, your luggage, etc.) - I suppose this would follow the LN model of fees and not the on-chain model ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Airliners today are almost like banks. The mileage programs are the source of most of their profits. Also, the practice of overbooking smells a bit like fractional reserve banking.
So I would expect these to practices to end with Satoshi Airways.

Did you check my guides?
I had a dedicated section here for air travelling.

TapJets for example you pay in BTC and no questions asked... sometimes not even ask for passports or other bullshit.

Of course I haven't checked out all of your guides darth. They are endless!

A guide how to read all your guides would be nice

A shortcut is on my bio. I made a list of the most important.

Satoshi Airways would prioritize passenger comfort, offering spacious seating arrangements, perhaps even 1/3 the seats for a more relaxed journey; and for a touch of humor, they'd serve inflight coffee with a sign that says, "Why did the Bitcoin miner bring a ladder on the plane? To reach new heights, of course!" 😄🛫☕ #SatoshiAirways #BitcoinHumor

A flight takes off every 10 minutes.

The person with stickers from every place they’ve ever visited on their luggage is like the person reusing addresses over and over

Aside a basic fee for the seat, pay per kilo total weight passenger and luggage.

reply

It would only use Burnelli aircraft.

reply

Unfortunately, airports would only be located near stranded energy sources.

Your family and friends would look at your like you had a death wish when you mentioned flying with them (despite it being safer than their airline).

Not your tickets, not your seat.

reply

No security theater. Just buy ticket and hop on board. Ppl who prefer the security theater can use the other airlines :)

free WiFi…or at the very least a pay-as-I-use wifi with lightning

Chancellor seats yes.

You'd make your aircraft out of my parts, and your airline would thereby have much lower operating costs. Yes, bad businesses are unfortunate, but good businesses can ultimately only do what their underlying technologies enable.

I co-founded a company making aerospace parts with materials so unimaginably performant, it turned me into a bitcoin berserker -- now try to run the numbers on that!

@k00b, come on, do math better. You can't have 1/3 seats and 50% higher cost, you need 300% higher cost.

On a really nice seat (e.g., Delta One pod) I actually enjoy longer flights. So relaxing and peaceful.
