Fees from zaps, fees from promoted posts, fees from job postings. Some of fees goes to SN, some goes back into rewards pool.
These are potential sources of revenue but 100% of it goes to the reward pool currently.

Interesting. I thought you guys kept a portion. Why don't you use SN account to host saloon daily and we can all zap it as donations to SN in appreciation for the work you guys are doing? I know you guys have your angel funding but I am sure the community would like to contribute to the sustainability and success of the site.
reply
I know you all are amazing and would donate, but if this thing is going to have the life we all want it to, we to make money beyond donations so that's a higher priority.
The best way anyone can contribute to SN is to be a great stacker - supportive, thoughtful, helpful, and generous to other stackers.

SN has just amazing interface, minimal and dark. This is my first week here on SN and already found this platform surprisingly useful @k00b. I was struggling with my questions since last 2-3 years and wanted some help and guidance. I never got the courage to speak out in any Twitter comment spaces, Nostr client posts, Youtube comments, even on Reddit.
Your SAT bounties gave me a motivation to speak up and surprisingly my voice is heard here. I can feel SN can be my virtual Bitcoin buddy since I'm starting all alone without anyone to show me path. THANKS TO YOU and TEAM for making this such an amazing platform. :)

Understandable. I am not going to force donations upon you. Or am I? (muahahahaha)
SN satsraiser @siggy47?
reply
๐ give 'em to Open Sats or dump in the rewards everyday
reply
I was thinking Open Sats was a potential option for the next one so maybe.
reply
Good possibility. @k00b pointed out that only a small percentage of us zap each other. I have enough confidence in him to figure out the business plan. Our role is to zap the hell out of each other and get new accounts to realize that hoarding your stack will ultimately limit your ability to earn here. Nemo really shook up my perspective in a short period of time. Go big or go home. And you started it all. Then Darth out of nowhere gets people zapping each other worldwide. I think we're on to something.

Ok - I hear it.
Satattack reactivate!
I always wondered what Captain Nemo was like on shore leave? Now I think we knowโฆ โgenerousโ is probably the word.
reply
Nemobomber, satattack. Loving the new SN terminology.
reply
I guess it shows that the traditional world and itโs incentives donโt have names for what these types of interaction are. New language required..
reply
okok man, you can be generous with all other stackers, just don't throw too many sats on me. For upvoting and stuff like that is ok.
Don't get me wrong, is good to give sats, only that I think sometimes I don't deserve them.

Thanks.
Fun fact: do you know that the darthcoin exist?
But is only ONE in existence, cannot be divisible or transmitted. Is only mine.
And it exist only on the Mustafar planet (Darth's planet).
The perfect scarcity, right? ๐๐๐๐

so, how do you guys make money ?
reply
We don't. We are burning VC money to keep ourselves warm at night.
We have ideas on how we eventually do make money but they're just ideas and need to be validated.
reply
Guess most of us here hope that you guys can turn those ideas into more btc.
Keep up the good work
reply
I'm very optimistic we will!
reply
They will. There are a lot of potential avenues. Feasibly they could make the site non profit but the brand itself the profit centre.

that makes sense.

So glad they opted to build out a website too and not some app.
reply
The "too" is confusing me.
SN started as a website and now it also has a PWA which is still a website (same code base) just in a more native look.
Am I misunderstanding you?
reply
Ya, id not read into the too...cant really remember why i have it there. Made sense at the time ๐
reply
haha, I see, happens :)

tough break in the survivor pool this week. Are you buying back in or moving onto other things Satoshi style?
reply
oooh, thanks for the reminder, i forgot!
reply
I like this too. Too many apps but SN stands out in my attention space because it is one of the core things I do on my laptop now.
reply
Love it, thanks for the reply.
